The first regular project that ,we, the first years got was the sector-2, slum education...
We were divded in groups of two( which is now three because of newly inducted members ) and we went to sector 2 on weekends afternoon to share a bit of our knowledge with the children living there..So as a weekly routine we are going to sector 2, which is not very far from our insti to teach the children .... After reaching the place , with the help of our seniors we collect all the children at one palce and divide the children in various groups each headed by one of us and teach the stuff they are being taught in their classes. But some children there are so small that they dont go to schools and making them learn the basic things like the english alphabets and the numbers is really a bit difficult task for us also....but neverthless we are tryin our level best to make them learn the things they require....... And there are some also who go to school but mug up the things taught to them without understanding ........ and a few of them are unfortunate to go to school......
But as we count the list we also find some children who are bright enough and if given a little help and guidence can do really well..
These children not only require our so called knowledge but sumone who could make them understand what they are reading and to make them understand the need of what they are reading..
But things seldomly happen as they are planned ...........
Although we have been informed of our groups and on what day we have to go , but........
as happened last week there was some communication problem between us and we didnt know exactly which group was to go on sunday as on saturday none of the groups were supposed to go ........ as a consequence few of us turned up last time i.e. on sunday.............
But we were not pardoned for our mistake and we got a serious scolding from our president in the weekly meeting on very next day i.e. monday.............
And after last meeting I dont think we will ever be late for our work or will not come.....

fantastic job nupur...good to see all the toil bearing fruits..kudos to subodh n team.i hope the rotaract blogs take off from here...we would love to see more such blogs,n people theres no such restriction on the theme of the blogs starting from project descriptions to fun events pen down whatever comes to you.keep the good work up

looks like the words of the president elect(not president) are having some effect after all.
Doing work as a result of fear is not the way to go.
We are a purely voluntary organization and will remain that. Any questions or fears must be discussed without hesitation, openly.
After all we're not just social workers, were in it for the fun in both the work and otherwise.

and m really sorry for tht president controversy.... actually....in the vain of writin i forgot the designations...
its ok re...dun read too much int2 dat designation controversy....n thnq god u did take the intiative....we jus hope ke this effct rubs off on oders too...dunno y ppl shy away from writing...its a gud habit re :P newez for now mus say this is a gud start...lets keep it up..
